Don't Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus! Sophie!

Wish you could hear Sophie reading:

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

When this little book received a Caldecott Honor Medal, I was a little disappointed, but then I read it out loud to a class of first graders.  Then I read it out loud to four classes of elementary students first through fifth grade.  They loved it!  I loved it!   It  is just one of the most fun read aloud books!  Children shout out in response to Pigeon's pleading! I do wish you could hear Sophie reading it out loud to herself.  Such expression.  Such conviction!  Almost as much as the author himself.

Mo Willems' other books are just as delightful and his Elephant and Piggie books are wonderful "reader's theatre" for young and old alike.

Try

There Is a Bird On Your Head! (An Elephant and Piggie Book)

For a Monday Night Family Home Evening activity.  You will smile at the antics of these two friends and you will love taking turns playing Elephant and Piggie.

And then read

Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale

If you've ever had a toy you couldn't live without,
you'll understand . . .
