Opening last week at the BYU Museum of Art is this exhibit:
Phil and I went to the curator lecture, listened and learned why Dorthea Lange and others came to our little towns of Gunlock, St. George, and Toquerville. The photos brought back such memories. There is even one of me, hanging on the screen door looking at Dorthea. The Oakland Museum is closed for renovation and Kip's famous picture is not there. Been thinking of all the times those photographs of Kip and Ed and Dad have given me pleasure and hope. I suppose they just give me the feeling of home.
There are three picture books that always give me that same feeling of home. Children may like them, but their parents and grandparents will love them.
One day I may write about Gunlock, it will always be one of the places I love, where I was young in the mountains, in cowboy country.
Love that you are doing this!!! Trying hard not to call you every five minutes today. Love you!
